Como nasceu esta ideia? E porquê uma jóia?
E foi assim:
A ideia nasceu das memórias da minha infância.
Das memórias que guardei enquanto brincava à volta dos bordados das minhas avós e tias.
A transformação da ideia em jóia, essa, foi um processo mais complexo e não tão simples como uma memória. Foi surgindo como resposta a um passado que se estava a perder e com o qual as gerações mais novas não estavam a ter contacto.
Nasce com uma missão:
Preservar e enaltecer o Bordado Madeira equanto Património que é a Hístória e Cultura de um povo.
Retirá-lo das gavetas e fazê-lo "saltar" para o dia a dia das pessoas, e para que estas o possam levá-lo ao peito pelo mundo fora.
Com o compromisso de guardarem a genuinidade dos materiais e da técnica. O savoir faire dos ancestrais, numa combinação feita à luz das novas tendências.
Este é o meu olhar e a minha homenagem ao Bordado Madeira.
Set in a family dedicated to Madeiras Embroidery as a source of income, the afternoons were spent embroidering. The embroiderers gathered in the house of one another to make the task easier. I remember asking one another opinion, the younger learning from the older, in order to achieve a quality embroidery, important to continue getting more work. And even the tasks were sometimes divided, as some knew better preparing the filling and others executing the finishing more perfectly. I remember being teached the enormous importance of having the inside out side as perfect as the front side. They were learning afternoons, a not very easy life, but carried with great dedication and professionalism. To those artisans, who have always inspired me, I dedicate the MUDAME project. Straight up ladies in their personal and handmade life, whom led the importance of perfection inside out and the front side to all areas of your lifes.

I soon realized that my vocation would not be to reproduce that art of my great-grandmother, grandmother and aunts.
The creative process was speaking louder and it was there that I would like to be.
